Tiny Tigers Karate

Where the karate journey begins — playful, patient, and packed with giggles.

Built for This Exact Age

Three and four-year-olds don’t need drills; they need adventure. Tiny Tigers turns the building blocks of karate — balance, coordination, listening, taking turns — into games your child will beg to come back to. There are animal walks, obstacle courses, and yes, real (gentle) kicks and punches.

What we’re really building at this age is a relationship with effort: the delight of trying something new, wobbling, and getting it on the third try. No pressure, no performance — just a joyful first experience with structured activity that pays off for years.

Skills Your Tiny Tiger Will Build

  • Balance, coordination, and body control through movement games
  • Following two and three-step directions from a caring instructor
  • Waiting for a turn and cheering for classmates
  • First karate basics: stances, blocks, and safe kicks
  • Comfort in a group setting away from mom and dad
  • The magic words at this age: “I did it myself!”

What a 30-Minute Class Looks Like

We open with a high-energy warm-up game to shake the sillies out, move into 10–12 minutes of karate basics taught through imitation and imagination, practice a partner activity that builds sharing and patience, and close with a calm-down ritual so kids leave centered instead of wired. Every activity changes every few minutes — exactly how this age learns best.

A Note for Parents

It’s completely normal for a 3-year-old to spend their first class or two watching from the edge of the mat. Our instructors never force participation; we invite it. Most kids are joining the fun by week one and asking to wear their uniform to bed by week three.

Common Questions

Is 3 really old enough for karate?

For our version of it, yes. Tiny Tigers is a movement and listening program dressed up in karate fun — there’s no sparring and no pressure, just age-perfect activity.

What if my child won’t participate?

That’s common and completely fine. Kids join when they feel safe. Our instructors are experts at gently drawing shy ones onto the mat.

Do parents stay and watch?

Absolutely — our lobby looks right onto the training floor, and for this age we encourage it.
